Hemos constatado, y lo seguimos comprobando diariamente, que muchos pacientes anticoagulados se encuentran agobiados y asustados, por las muchas advertencias y prohibiciones, con frecuencia absurdas y sin fundamento, que reciben de sus familiares o amigos, e incluso, a veces, del personal sanitario. Nos referimos principalmente a los medicamentos y alimentos que pueden o no tomar los anticoagulados.

Today, there are in Spain, more than 700,000 people in long-term Oral Anticoagulation Treatment (OAT).Control of patients under OAT has been traditionally run in hospitals under hematology supervision.In the last years, there has been an increase on the number of patients under this treatment, with an estimate growth per year, around 20%.This is leading to a massification in the OAT control units, which also reverts to a difficult situation in terms of managing those patients and keeping high quality assistance.
