ISMAAP five years

Five years ago representative of five countries founded the International Self-Monitoring Association of oral Anticoagulated Patients (ISMAAP) 2002 in Geneva, Switzerland. The target is up today: "To motivate patients to take control of their own oral anticoagulation".

Due to big efforts and lots of activities during the last years INR self-monitoring became more popular. And these efforts bear fruits: In some countries and regions of countries the reimbursement for the test strips and the devices have been granted by the health insurances.

Meanwhile representaive of nine European countries are member of ISMAAP. this year Austria will beome member and Portugal is interested in membership.
