We motivate patients to take control of their own oral anticoagulation therapy

More than 1,000,000 patients in United Kingdom are living on long-term oral anticoagulation.
ISMAAP activities are focussed around these patients to offer them a better quality of life.

ACE continues to encourage the uptake of INR self-testing

AntiCoagulation Europe (UK) (ACE) continues to grow rapidly as the largest support organisation for people on anticoagulant therapy.
We have recently had our two day annual conference in Birmingham which was a huge success. At the conference we launched the Campaign Resource pack for people unable to obtain their testing strips on prescription in the UK.
We have been working with the National Patient Safety Organisation on issuing new guidance to help limit the number of adverse events and death from taking vitamin K antagonists.
We have been appointed advisors and observers to a pan European project looking to create a new tool for the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis. This is an exciting and innovative project across 11 countries of Europe using Nano Technology.
The circulation of the magazine INReview continues to grow and our leaflets are now distributed to all major hospitals as well as GP surgeries and Pharmacies.
ACE continues to be involved in patient workshops to encourage the uptake of self-testing.
